The Florida Region’s 2013 Long Course Regional Championship will be held in Venice, Florida, on November 10. With pristine clear blue waters, beaches filled with prehistoric sharks’ teeth, and numerous other attractions, Venice is the perfect place for competition and vacation. Hosted by Revolution3 Florida, this year the race will consist of not only the long course, but also an Olympic distance race. The centerpiece of the REV3 Florida triathlon, the half distance race, will consist of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run, while the Olympic will be comprised of a .9-mile swim, 25-mile bike, and a 6.2-mile run. Swim through warm waters, perhaps even with playful dolphins, then mount your bike for a flat and fast ride through Sarasota County. Enjoy the view while running along the Venetian Waterway. And throughout the weekend be sure to visit the USAT Florida Region expo tent in Maxine Barritt Park. Florida Region Council members look forward to seeing you there!
